Having
routed from the battle of Erfurt, 1st and 4th Russian
corps ordered to rally at Rudolstadt. 2nd
corps ordered to cover the rout and join them there. 3rd corps, who did not take part
in the battle, also ordered to concentrate there.
Davout
orders his four corps to rest and regroup in their battle positions just east
of the river Saale. His supply line is
now overextended and must be reorganised before he can continue his
advance.
